Part-time Work

What is Part-time Work Permit?

Individuals residing in Japan on a student visa may undertake part-time work within Japan upon receiving permission from the Immigration Bureau.

This is referred to as “activity outside the scope of status of residence”.

Working part-time without permission carries severe penalties.

Permission for “activity outside the scope of status of residence” can be obtained at a Japanese airport upon arrival in Japan.
